I've been wanting to start a blog about my paintings, and there's no better time than the present! Our local community art center is having a show with the theme "Play" in December, so I submitted every painting I've done that includes chess pieces. That's the 5 of them above.
Yesterday I received an e-mail telling me that 3 of the paintings had been accepted for the show. Readers, which 3 do you think it was? Which 3 would you pick?

ReplyDeleteChris, I'm glad you like the first one. It's my most recent painting, and I always hope people will like my recent work. It's kind of a bummer when people look at my paintings, pick out something I did 3 years ago, and say "I like that one -- you should do more of those!"
Actually, what the juror picked was #2, #3, and #5. I was a bit surprised that she didn't take #1, but who can tell the ways of an art juror? I'm just happy to be in the show.
I can see picking 2, 3, and 5, because they're the most different from each other.
